schedule comparison
Even though many students at USM and elsewhere in the states often complain about school and how much work it is, chinese students apparently have it much tougher. they face a strict schedule for the entire day, from 6:20 until 11:00. they have more subjects than we o, and have every subject every day. however, with little time outside of class, they probably don't have much homework to do, which would be nice. they also have very little time for anything except school work, sinice they attend school all day, even partial days on saturday and sunday. comparatively, usm seems easy, in that we have school for a minimal seven hours a day, and only five days a week. even though homework often takes up a large amount of our free time, we have the luxury of being able to participate in extracurriculars and other activities outside of school. overall, the chinese method, while being much harder on students, likely better prepares them to work in an equally rigorous environment.
